Autism Speaks is an autism charity that, along with its predecessor organizations, has been a critical source of funding directed towards the causes and treatment of autism spectrum disorders; it also conducts awareness and outreach activities aimed at families, governments, and the public. In a 2006 press release, Autism Speaks stated as its goal "to accelerate and fund biomedical research into the causes, prevention, treatments and cure for autism spectrum disorders; to increase awareness of the disorder; and to improve the quality of life of affected individuals and their families"
Autism is a disorder that is close to the hearts of Gamma Delta Iota and many other who are affected. We proudly support this organization. Please note that Gamma Delta Iota is not affiliated with Autism Speas in anyway, but we proudly support. For over 100 years, the American Cancer Society has been leadng the way to transform cancer from deadly to preventable. Their focus is "To save lives by helping people stay well, helping people get well, by finding cures, and fighting back.
More than one million people in the United States get cancer each year. Whether you have cancer or are close to someone who does, understanding what to expect can help you cope. Gamma Delta Iota supports the edeavors of the American Cancer Society and will continue ti raise awareness and educate on how together we can give hope and overcome the disease.
