MEMBERSHIP PROCESS
Can I join other groups if I pledge Gamma Delta Iota Second Life Sorority?
Even in virtual society, we try to model ourselves based on real life sisterhood organizations, and rightfully so, as we strive to impact eachother's lives in a postive way. Due to the nature of a sisterhood sorority, you cannot pledge GDI if you are active in another sorority. We do however plan to partner, reach out to and support other sororities in achieving their worthy goals in the Second Life community.
I understand I can't join a sorority. Can I join other social groups and still be a part of GDI?
Yes, you are encouraged to have a full Second Life experience. There are dance groups, entertainment groups, many different groups including more recent groups called fratorities which dedicate their vision toward married couples. There are countless interest groups you can be a part of. We encourage growth and a fullfilling second life, as long as you can continue to be a valued contributor to Gamma Delta Iota.
What is the new membership process intake like?
The purpose of membership intake process is to educate new members on our organization’s values and its history. It's strategically designed to be fun and interesting, yet challenging and lead up to initiation into the organization. We place value on you as a future Sapphire. You will bond with your line sisters and the sorors of GDI. We take this process to heart and try to provide a fullfilling experience of pledging.
PURPOSE
What's so different about Gamma Delta Iota?
There are many many sororities in Second Life. While we cannot speak regarding the workings of all, the founder of GDI does not believe in competing with other sororities, or between our own circle of sisters. we believe in our vision of sisters with one heart. We learn from eachother, we grow, we are there for eachother. We do everything with excellence because we take pride in ourselves and how we represent eachother. Our second life does impact our real life in the most positive way. We dismiss negatively as quickly as possible for the greater good of our sisterhood.
What's my purpose in Gamma Delta Iota?
Your purpose is just that. Yours. Are you commited to be a sister that will be there for others? Are you wanting to lead and organize? We want you to use your talents nd moreover be a sincere sister that wants to be a part of something extraordinary.
